    Default This is me

    Hi,
I was watching a movie last night. In the movie, there is this guy taking a girl home from a date. They took a cab. The cab suddenly stops and the girl says, "This is me."

What does "This is me" mean in this context?

    Thanks in advance.

"This is my home", or "This is where I live" so "We have reached the place where I need to get out of the cab".

We use it quite a lot with transport. If you're on a bus and you're chatting to someone, as the bus approaches the bus-stop that you need to get off at, you might say "OK, well, it's been nice to chat but this is me so I'll see you soon". They know that "This is me" means "This is my stop so I'm getting off now".
