" A disney store does three times the business of its average mall competition".
can you please explain this sentence to me? why competition and not competitor?

Thanks for your help.
Competition is a more general term and it's the act of competing against each other in order to gain more customers. "Average mall competition" is the average of all the business combined - all of the competitors together.
