    Default Were or was?

Which of the following is correct?

"I didn't get the job so I thought something was wrong with me."

"I didn't get the job so I thought something were wrong with me."

(I'm trying to say that there wasn't anything wrong with me.)

    Thanks in advance :)

SV agreement means "something" is singular 3rd person, "was" is singular 3rd person, something was.

Which of the following is correct?
    This one:
I didn't get the job, (comma here) so I thought something was wrong with me.
"so" is a coordinating conjunction that links two independent clauses. The ones we have here are not short clauses. A comma would not come amiss.
