    Default by the time ...

    Hi

    By the time the rays of light reach your eyes the star (in the sky) will be many kilometres away.

    Maybe it should be "have reached your eyes"? I'm not sure about the tense?

    "Reach" or "have reached" are both OK. The sentence is factually incorrect though.

    Yes, you are right. I completely missed that it was "rays" and not "ray".
