Default About the usage of "better"

    Hello

I don't know whether my sentence is correct or not.
--> "Teachers can better help students improve their social skills"

If this is correct, Is 'better' an adverb in this case?

It'll be my pleasure for you to let me know.

What do you mean exactly by can better help? Something like can further help (= help more) would sound better to me than can better, without more context.

I'm really sorry and I've just seen your posting and sorry again, I don't remember the whole paragraphs.

I'm a student preparing for studying aboard.
So I am studying TOEFL in order to go to US.
What I asked before is one part of varied expressions that my speaking teacher had given to me.
He is a Korean-American and speak English as perfectly as typical Americans do.
So I thought on my own like ... it is just what most Americans use, tranditionally.

And I just wanted to make sure what it is.

    Thank you

P.S Is there an alarm system on this site that lets me know that my questions are answered?
I would be better if an android application :D might just be my wishful thinking.

    Thank you!

Provided that there has been previous mention of some way(s) in which teachers attempt to help their students, "Teachers can better help students improve their social skills (by .....ing...)" seems fine to me. As you suggest, context is important.

    I doesn't seem right without the 'by...ing...'

    Wow, you again!

I think that's a very important point that "by ~ing" is necessary.

    Thank you !
