    Default Word order

    Hello,
I will be grateful for any comments on the sentece below. I am struggling with the order of the information given (time, place...) and it just does not seem right to me:

"According to the author, during winter in south-eastern Poland, wild boar stayed mainly in beech-hornbeam stands where they had the opportunity to feed on beech-mast crop."

    Thanks for any suggesttions!

The plural of 'boar' can be either 'boar' or 'boars'. This is fine:

'...in south-eastern Poland, * wild boar stayed mainly in * beech-hornbeam stands...'

We'd only need 'the' where I have put asterisks if we are talking about a previously mentioned group of boar staying in previously-mentioned stands.
