I'm wondering if the sentence "you will soon be on your way" can be used for somebody who is about to leave the place and travel somewhere else? Or is it only used in the sense "you will soon be coming"? Can "be on your way" be used for both coming and leaving?
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum, MLind.
In my experience it's usually said to somebody who is leaving, but I see no reason why it shouldn't be said to someone who's coming.
