over my work?

At times I go to this Korean website where people post and answer any kind of questions. Questions are divided by catagories and its English section is very active. People post questions and answers. I go there and browse through some questions when I have time. Many questions involve translations either from English to Korean or the other way around.

Well the former is ok, since it only requires reading comprehension and translating to their mother tongue. The latter, however, requires very high level of English composition and I doubt many have this. I know I don't.

I'd better get to my question before I sidetrack more.

I saw this sentence from the Korean website mentioned above.

"Sorry I didn't pay more attention to you over my work"

This is apparently a translation somebody did from an original Korean text.
Reading his whole translation I knew he writes better English than me but I thought this one sentence was a bit odd.

That part of the original Korean text roughly meant like this: "I'm sorry I didn't spend more time with you, I had to work all week long."

Is 'over my work' correct in this case? Personally I've never seen this usage before. But if it is I see no problem with his sentence.

That actually is a good one, although that's not what I'm asking in this thread.

I'm simply asking if 'over my work' is a correct usage.

Not really- 'because of' or a rewrite like Temico's.
