    Default streaked/streaking

    Dear all,

In the sentence below, why not use "streaking",one of the reason I ask is because it dose not consistent with the verb form of "receding"?

"My father's hair, streaked with gray and receding on both sides, is combed straight back to his collar"

    Thank you

No, because receding hair is seen as a unfinished process.
