It's good advice to not take yourself too seriously. If you make mistakes, and can laugh at them and carry on, you will have less stress and less regrets. (Learn from them, sure, but don't wallow in them.)

You don't have to laugh heartily - or even out loud. Just don't take it too seiously.

I wonder what Spanish students do with this, as the verb for 'to laugh' is already reflexive - reirse. Interesting... well, quite...
