1-A gigantic monument, like an Egyptian pyramid, came into view in a clearing
in the forest.
2-The gigantic monument, like an Egyptian pyramid, came into view in a
clearing in the forest.
Do these sentences mean:
A/The gigantic monument came into view in a clearing in the forest as an Egyptian pyramid would.
Could they mean:
A/The gigantic monument, which was like an Egyptian pyramid, came into view in a clearing in the forest.)
Thank you Bhaisahab.
How about:
A-The gigantic monument, like an Egyptian pyramid, had no visible entrance.
Does this sentence mean:
a-The gigantic monument had no visible entrance, just like an Egyptian pyramid (does not have a visible entrance).
or:
b-The gigantic monument, which was like an Egyptian pyramid, had no visible entrance.
I don't know anything about the pyramids actually. They might have visible entrances, although all my life I have been under the impression that they don't. This is just a grammatical question.
a) IMO
I agree - A
Yes, A.
