Can I use who instead of that?
Subjects were divided into two groups. The first group who were accompanied by their friends showed higher physiological reactions to complete a task compared with the second group who took their pets with themselves.

They had higher blood pressure, tachycardia when they had to do a complicated task when their friends were with them.
I had to be concise, since the prepartion time is limited in the exam. Could you please fix my sentence to sound proper English.
