Arrow X years to the day

Some natives saw it as a bit of snowy synchronicity that the last time the Vikings played an outdoor home game was 29 years ago to the day.
It was 25 years to the day since they had become a couple, and several dozen friends and relatives had come to the capital to celebrate.
The last thing the air traffic controller at La Guardia Airport told the pilot that foggy Saturday morning 50 years ago today sounded almost like an afterthought: "At the present time, I can't see the top of the Empire State Building."

25 years to the day since
    50 years ago today

They all mean 'exactly X years before the day referred to'. In the third example, the day is the day on which the sentence was spoken.
