    Default gender problem

    Dear teachers...

Does the second sentence read better than the first one?

    1) He was spotted leaving a cheap motel accompanied with a person who only a DNA test could tell the gender.

    2) He was caught coming out of a cheap motel accompanied with a person whose gender could only be revealed by a DNA test.

    Thanks

Now it does. The first sentence is not acceptable English.

The second sentence is correct. The first sentence is ungrammatical.
