These are the phrases from the song Rolling in the deep by an English singer Adele. I can't figure out what they really mean. Can you help me?
Here's the first verse:
There's a fire starting in my heart,
Reaching a fever pitch and it's bring me out the dark
Finally I can see you crystal clear
Go ahead and sell me out and I'll lay your ship bare
And then she sings in the chorus:
We could've had it all, rolling in the deep.
Here's how I understand it. I think that in "I'll lay your ship bare" she meant that she is letting that ship (symbolically "her ex-boyfriend") go, meaning he could leave her if he wants to.
And rolling in the deep, I think, is being fully in love with a person and enjoying everything, being in the seventh heaven.
Please, correct me if I'm wrong.
