She is grumbling about Jim's broken truck when the due day is around the corner, and she says "Book of Changes" which is "hardship" in the dictionary, Is it correct? And if so, what's its origin?

Jim- What emergency?
Mel- This could be an emergency.
Jim- Look, I know that it's your due that the watchers predicted.

But you're not ganna have a baby tonight, 'cuz it's after 8.

Mel- It's the Book of Changes. Ok, not the watchers, and it's been right about everything else.
