Help to understand one part of this song please

Hi I didn't know where should I put this thread in first place. I tought i would fit in literature or idioms but at the end I decided to put it here because Im just trying to understand one little phrase of this song, and it's not an idiom nor a literature thing.

The phrase is this:

"You hide behind your walls
Of maybe nevers
Forgetting that there's something more
Than just knowing better"

I'm trying but I really can't get it what it means the part "Of maybe nevers" with maybe nevers I know is more like a psychological thing but if someone could explain to me I would be very thankful.
