    Cool a take on...

Is it correct to use "a take on" meaning "adaptation" from a novel or tale? "Take" is used here as a noun.

    Used in this sentence:
The first short was a very personal take on the imagery of Lewis Carroll’s Alice

    Thanks a lot

Yes, but do you mean the character Alice or the work?

Thanks for your concern. I think it is more on the "imagery" of Alice than rather the tale itsellf.

    Thanks again

What's the imagery of Alice? I can understand that the book "Alice in Wonderland" (or "Alice Through the Looking Glass") contained a lot of imagery, but the character of Alice herself? Can you explain what you mean by "the imagery of Alice"?

Well, I infer the text is referring to all Alice's literary images we know. So the film director faces a personal take on these images so far.

    Thank You
