In the following sentence, the last word is referring to the personal obsessions of the helmer. Please, is it a good use of the word? Is it better to use the word in plural? Maybe is the right word "obsessions"?
It was his first feature film, the one written solely by himself which may be the reason this is one of his most pure approaches concerning his personal haunting.
Do you find any other problem in the sentence?
Thank You
Please, any help?
Not knowing what the film is doesn't help but without any other information I would assume that the film was actually about a "haunting" - literally someone who is being troubled by a ghost/paranormal spirit. It looks to me as if the writer of the film had personal experience of being haunted and used that experience to write the film. If that is the case, then "haunting" is the only appropriate word. Haunting and obsession are not interchangeable although there are some contexts in which they might both be used.
