    Post He/She instead of him/her

    hi there, please let me know your opinion on this.

    (1) How many people are there in his/her family?
    -There are three people in his/her family.

    (2) Who are they?
    -They are his Father, Mother and he/she.

    Wish to ask if "him/her" will sound best if we subtitute it in the second answer.

    I might say, "They are his father, his mother, and he himself." At least I wouldn't object to that. I think I'd really say, "Apart from him, [there's] his mother and father."

    In #2 "he/she" is grammatically correct, but you will very often, maybe most often, hear "him/her" in AmE.
