    Default question

    If we write ,

"The publishing industry is very complex. The publishers choose the works ,pay the translators and are responsible for the commisions."

Is it correct or the definite article should be removed and say "publishers"?

I think it sounds better without the article. Use "Publishers" as a general noun. Note that the space comes after a comma, not before.

And please note that The publishing industry is very complex would have been a more meaningful title for your thread.
