rudely Dear teachers,
Would you be kind enough to give me your considered opinion concerning the interpretation of the word in bold in the following sentence?
I reach the point where the turbid Missouri rushes rudely upon thee, as though he would force thee from thy onward course.
rudely = abruptly and unpleasantly forceful
