I have found sentences with not + already on a dictionary site or in a novel. For example;

- if it has not already been done..
- In case you do not know already...

What is the difference between the above and the ones with not + yet as below?

- if it has not been done yet..
- in case you do not know yet..

There isn't a great deal of difference. With the already questions, there is perhaps some suggestion that the speaker thinks that it has been done and that you do know. This suggestion is not there in the yet questions.
