I have no money.
I have not money.
What is the difference?
***** NOT A TEACHER *****
(1) I have no money.
(2) I do not have any money.
Some people feel that (1) is more emphatic (stronger):
Martha: Would you like to join us? We're going to a concert tomorrow.
Tom: I can't.
Martha: Why not?
Tom: I do not have any money. Times are hard. Every penny goes for
food and rent.
Martha: C'mon! You surely must have enough money for a concert ticket.
Tom: I told you that I have no money! Believe me!
