Given a choice between 'even' and 'has' - which word choice is better and why?
She______answered the question before.
I think 'has' is a better choice, but I'm not sure why. Is there a grammar rule at work here?
Thank you!
Not really- they're different parts of speech and the meanings are different. Even sounds less natural without a wider context because we can't see the need for emphasis.
That's what I thought, but my 2nd grader isn't understanding why, and I'm finding it difficult to explain the concept of needing wider context.
I'll try and explain the concept of different parts of speech and see if that helps.
THANK YOU!
