There are many ways to cut down on waste in the kitchen. Here are two of my favorite!

waste away = lose strength by degrees. More like 'become very thin and weak, as if dying'.
It’s wasteful to use so much fuel.
wasteful = using or spending too much or unlikely pointlessly
There is too much waste in the house.
waste = useless remains of something Possibly. I think it's more likely to be: 'Use of things that do not need to be used.
It’s waste of time and money to wait any longer.
waste = loss, unprofitable use :tick:.
