    Default get the picture

It helps you to get the bigger picture. Is my sentence correct ?
But I saw in the Longman dictionary '' get the picture''.

    Thank you for your reply.

    I'm not a teacher.

SketchBook Mobile Android app helps you get the picture

the picture = the way things are or were; the facts about something; the situation; what happened or happens.

get the picture - get the meaning of something; "Do you comprehend the meaning of this letter?"

    get the picture (informal)
to understand a situation 'He doesn't want her but he doesn't want anyone else to have her, you know?' 'I get the picture.'

After the fight on the playground, the principal talked to the boys who were watching, until he got the whole picture.

If you get the picture, you understand a situation, especially something that you are being told about, rather than one you see for yourself.

If you get the bigger picture, you understand the much wider context that led to the situation you are considering.

I would use "get the picture" or "see the bigger picture". That might just be my personal preference though.

I don't think 'get the bigger picture' is wrong, but 'see' sounds better, and I think it's more common.
