    Default absenteeism, absence

He had lots of unexplained absenteeism, when he worked for the company.
After having frequent absences, his boss wanted to see him.

    Are sentence correct?

    Thank you for your response.

I would prefer "a lot of unexplained absenteeism".

I'd use either 'unexplained absences' or 'absenteeism'; I feel that 'unexplained absenteeism' is tautologous.

I'm going to agree with bill for a change.
The boss could have known that he was taking days off to watch the cricket. It's still absenteeism, even though it's not unexplained.

Absenteeism is a habitual pattern of absence from a duty or obligation.

If the boss happened to find out, it could still be unexplained, in the sense that Bill did not give a good explanation for his absence.

Apart from all that, I feel the sentence 'After having frequent absences, his boss wanted to see him' needs a re-write. It sounds to me as though having frequent absences modifies the boss. Perhaps because of relative closeness. Am I wrong and is this sentence acceptable?
