Default wait on hand and foot

    Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to give me your considered opinion concerning the interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentences?

She spoils her children waiting on them hand and foot.

No wonder women who expect their husbands to wait on them hand and foot are often disappointed after their marriage.

wait on hand and foot = be constantly in attendance upon, serve in a slavish manner
