I didn't use music much in my lessons but one thing I did was get the students to rewrite the lyrics completely. For example, there is a line in the song:

"You're still number one I remember the smell of your skin"

so I would try to get them to reword it as

"You remain my favourite person and I recall the fragrance given off by your epidermis" or something equally ridiculous!

May I just say that, as an English teacher, I trust that your use of capitalisation and punctuation is better in your classes than it was in your post! Please use them correctly in your posts as learners on this forum need to see correctly written English as much as possible.
