    Default gouge

"One man, he disappoint me/ He give me the gouge and he take my glee [...]" (Get him back by Fiona Apple)

What does "gouge" mean in here?

PS. Please ignore 'he give', 'he disappoint'.

But why ignore them? They're indicators of the general fact that she uses language in a way that no one would teach. Perhaps 'give someone the gouge' is a bit of slang that some people use. It doesn't sound very friendly, but I have no clear idea of what it means. Maybe the Urban Dictionary could help.
