I don't think so. There is only one particular disease called Alzheimer's (although there are many other forms of dementia) so we wouldn't pluralise it. I would suggest:

Many people in my hometown suffer from Alzheimer's.

Rather, "There is a high incidence of Alzheimer's disease in my hometown."
