Please ! can anyone tell me whether I should use "will" or "would" in the following sentence " I never thought that you "will" come".The person to whom this sentence is directed is present.

'Would'; but 'will' is widely used and understood. (In a slightly different sentence, 'will' would be fine (or at least, less obviously wrong): 'I wonder[ed - to convey the sense 'I was wondering... (a polite way of saying 'I don't know and I hope you'll tell me')'] whether you will be coming to the Christmas party this year?'
