More and more women go out to work. Is it the government’s responsibility to subsidize them and provide free staff and facilities to care for their children? To what extent do you agree or disagree to this idea?
These days, with the progression of the humanity, gender roles have changed dramatically--- with women taking more high-ranking positions & having set foot in nearly every walk of life in the entire world. But in the meantime, that poses a dilemma for career women who are trying to seek a balance between child-caring & work. Public debate has been going on in my country over whether the government has a duty-bound & obligation to sponsor work women and offer free-charge professional staff and facilities to care for their children.
It is evidently reasonable for proponents to contend that government would be well-advised to do spare efforts to relive women on their labor work of child-nurturing. To start with, it will release women from the time consuming work of rearing and educating children, and thus give them chance to focus themselves on their work and enjoy life equally as men do. At the same time, factories and companies can benefit a lot from the practice of subsidiary, which exempts them from the losses caused by female absentees. Moreover, it is better for children to be brought up in group under scientific & systematic schooling instead of individually by parents. Elementary education, for instance, not only popularizes knowledge, but also cultivates skilled talent for the society. It is universally accepted that, By enjoying the right of schooling, children will be excellent in social activities and are naturally good at getting along with others. In addition, the professional staff who have years of nursing education are able to take better care of the children by contrast with their young parents who lack of experience.
In contrast, critics may claim that there are several drawbacks of this policy. It is justified due to the fact that parenting is an indispensable part of education. It takes time to cultivate feelings & love. Every time when parents take them to amusement park, help them to make DIY crafts or applaud for them when they are rehearsing and performing for the class could turn into the most precious & irreplaceable treasures in their memories. Parents have no excuse to be absent from their children’s growing-up life. Besides, the implementation of policy will inevitably increase the financial burden and pressure on the government. However, in the long run, this point seems to be vulnerable, since higher work efficiency & improved citizens' educational level will benefit the national economy as a whole, and hence, heighten the tax revenue.
By way of conclusion, I take the view that this is surely a long-sighted policy, whose merits prevail over its drawbacks. Not only women but also children are its beneficiaries. And perhaps the great contribution of it is that the equality between sexes will be further promoted. However, at the same time, some supporting measures can be adopted, such as the policy of flexible & feasible working hour, to providing career women with convenience in children caring.
Thank you so much for your generous help.
