    Default Very savagely

"Nowadays in Portugal there are lots of high school students who drop out of school to become prostitutes to earn a lot of more money. Sometimes they're beaten very savagely by pimps in brothels."

Are these two sentences natural to say in conversations?

    Thank you so much

Now they are natural (though very depressing).

    Dear Rover and other teachers,

    - Instead of using "depressing" in this context, could I say "Do you think these instances deserve to be broken-hearted?" or "Do these instances break your heart?" or "Do you think these instances really heart-rending?"?

    Thank you so much

    not a teacher

You don't say something deserves to be broken-hearted.

You can say the news is heart-breaking, heart-rending, shocking, pathetic, deplorable, lamentable, distressing, etc. if you are looking for other adjectives
