    Default book = record

    Dear teachers,

    Would you be kind enough to give me your considered opinion concerning the interpretation of the verb in bold in the following sentence?

    The passenger booked by this history, was on the coach-step, getting in; the two other passengers were close behind him, and about to follow. (Ch. Dickens, "A Tale of Two Cities")

    book = record, describe, depict
