    Default In a sense means?

    Hello teachers,

    1) "She arrived early in order to get a good seat." means "She arrived early with the purpose/intention of getting a good seat." ?

    2) "It is in a sense an era..." What does it mean?

    3) "New countries are being discovered." means "New countries are being found." ?

    Many thanks

    1) "She arrived early in order to get a good seat." means "She arrived early with the purpose/intention of getting a good seat." ? Yes, right. Or she arrived early to get a good seat.

    2) "It is in a sense an era..." What does it mean? It means you are considering the matter "in one particular way" or "partly" but not with all the other facts.

    3) "New countries are being discovered." means "New countries are being found." ? Yes.
