    Default Slander

    A. Right now in the US, lots of people are very frightened of an assassin who kills people and leaves nude dead bodies.
    B. Today Scotty received a 3 month sentence in jail for slandering a principal to be a hustler.

Are these two sentences natural to say in conversations?

    Thank you so much

I don't see anything wrong or unusual with them.

    NOT A TEACHER

    (1) Right now a lot of Americans are very frightened because there's

a killer going around murdering people and stripping their bodies naked.

    (2) Today Scotty received a three-month sentence for slander because he

accused a school principal of being a hustler.

P.S. "Hustler" can mean many things. One definition is a male prostitute

employed by male customers. I think the British term is "rent boy."

I thought slander was usually dealt with as a civil, rather than criminal, matter. I've never heard of anyone going to jail for slander.
