first unplug the cable from your computer and then unplug the cable from... Before Working Inside Your Computer
CAUTION: To disconnect a network cable, first unplug the cable from your computer and then unplug the cable from the network device.
Would it be okay to say "it" instead of the cable, and also in place of the cable?

Yes. I'd say it like this:
To disconnect a network cable, first unplug it from your computer and then from the network device.
