    Default he is no conjurer

    Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to give me your considered opinion concerning the interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

By the account I have heard of him, he is no conjurer.

he is no conjurer = there are flies on him, there is lack of alertness in him, he is not a person of great abilities, he is not intelligent

    This should make one ponder.

    conjurer: Definition from Answers.com

magician = conjurer, miracle-worker, sorcerer, spellbinder, marvellous,

marvelous = being or having the character of a miracle; Extraordinarily good.

    miracle =
    one that excites admiring awe
