Would you pls explain the structure and meaning of this sentence for me:"What is particularly meaningful to anthropologist is the realization that although the materials available to a society may to some extent limit or influence what it can do artistically, the materials by no means determine what is done".Thanks!

A society can only use the materials is has, and these will restrict the artistic output- a society that doesn't have paper is restricted in its writing, though it can write on stone, etc. However, the materials adon't decide the creative process- having paper makes writing easy and convenient, but doesn't control what we write on the page.
