    Default Thoroughly

Hi everyone: I've just looked up the word "thoroughly" and there are mainly two definitions: "very much" and "completely." My question: if I say "I thoroughly agree", what does my listener understand? "I very much agree" or "I completely agree"??

Completely. "Very much" in this case does not mean, like 75%.

    Think "thorough" like complete.

'I thoroughly agree' sounds unnatural to me - I'd use 'completely' here.

Mmmmmmmm... I'm trying to draw a conclusion... (if any!) Would you say that the change in meaning is a question of "collocation"?

    It's a question of context.

See the FrazeIt entry for examples of the word used in sentences.
