This is a part of an ad, and is it a correct expression?
Vaccum cleaner
Sand, cat-hairs, dust and dust-mites... Anything gets by ORECk XL.
In here, I think the meaning of sentence above is that "the vaccum cleaner gets everything".
But the expression "Anything gets" is gramatically correct?
Thanks in advance.
No, it's grammatically incorrect. It should either be corrected to,Sand, cat-hairs, dust and dust-mites... Anything gets by ORECk XL.
a)Sand, cat-hairs, dust and dust-mites... Anything gets vacuumed/picked up/ sucked up/etc. by ORECk XL.
or
b)Sand, cat-hairs, dust and dust-mites... ORECk XL gets ANYTHING!
Or possibly nothing gets by ORECk XL, meaning that nothing can escape this vacuum cleaner.
