    Default What does it mean?

Would you pls explain for me the meaning of this sentence:
"The flow of industry has passed and left idle the loom in the attic, the soap kettle in the shed".
    Thank you very much!

The industrial age is long gone, and with it the old way of manufacturing goods: the loom which produced clothe and the soap kettle which made soap. We're now in the technological age; we program machines to the job for us.
