    Post is this an idiom?

    Hello,

I didn't understand the meaning of last sentence. Is it an idiom and what does it mean? Context is the speaker is talking about a floor (fifth) of a hospital which he is still there. And he's talking about that one patient comes and the other goes...

It was eerie thinking that the fifth floor had been waiting all those
years. I guess everything can be seen in that light; everything from bread at the bakery to grave plots.

I have no idea. In the absence of meaningful context, I can only think that it's pretentious garbage.
