Default Idiomatic expression

Hi!
I was wondering, have you heard the expression " lost in the desert", meaning missing home, or not knowing what to do?
"lost at sea" does it have the same meaning as the above one ?
Thanks a lot
Bye
Jorge

I haven't personally heard them in that context, but they sound as if they could be used like that.

'Lost at sea', or 'I'm all at sea' are used in that context. I haven't heard the 'desert' version myself.
