how to use "until"

I want to say that I have not played bowling for a very long time.
I played on last friday.

1. I had not played bowling until last friday.

Is sentence no. 1 ok?

2. I have not played bowling since 1990s.
I played on last friday.

Is sentences no.2 ok?
Is there any way to connect both sentences?

How can I write in a better way?

Please guide me.

Is sentence no. 1 ok? It suggests that last Friday was the first time you had ever played.

2. I have not played bowling since the1990s. I played on last friday.
Is sentences no.2 ok? "I had not played ..." is more appropriate.

Is there any way to connect both sentences?"Last Friday was the first time I had played bowling since the 1990s."

In British English we do not normally 'play bowling'. We 'go bowling' , 'play bowls'.or 'bowl'.
