    Default replace about

I can replace divots and monkey about to my heart’s content, but I wonder whether I will be able to see serious plot or design flaws in time.

What does this sentence mean and replace about? Here the speaker is talking about his writing ability who suffers from alexia illness.

"to monkey about" is an expression meaning "to behave, or to use or move things, in a silly and careless way": The children were bored and started monkeying around/about.

It looks like the guy is playing some kind of a game, and he wants to know whether there will be a problem with the way he thinks and take decisions.
