"ticket" is like a little record that deals with a certain issue (problem). It could be related to your inquiry. They are going to work on the issue for which the ticket is issued.
It's used in IT support- if I contact our ISP with a problem, they issue a ticket, which is the reference number for that particular problem. It is standard usage and not poor translation. The number will then appear in all emails about the issue in the title.
