Could I write:
"He did a lot of bad to the world"
as the opposite of:
"He did a lot of good to the world."
?
You could, but it's not idiomatic.

Both are not idiomatic British English?
"He did (or has done) a lot of good in the world" is more familiar to me. I guess you could substitute "bad" for "good".
